So this is what one neighbour said

Our heroin taking neigbour nextdoor was beaten up at some ungodly hour in the morning, they bust in through the front door and chased him through the house. We were told it was the young ones party house -- Gary, the local hard case lives there sometimes, and it was him that did it. The police turned up in force and Gary was outside swinging a baseball bat, taking on the whole of Shropshire police. All three from the party house were arrested, and Chris wastaken to hospital, Wendy and two year old daughter were taken away to a safe house.

This is what one from the party house said

That Chris, had been doing too much robbing and it had all come back on him. And it was nothing to do with them.

First some history

After the rape -- oh, you don't know about that?

Let's start at the beginning. I sent out an email about this story below, if you want it with a little more contemporaneousness.

A couple of months ago, Chris came around "Wendy's been raped, I don't know what to do." We persuaded him to call the police. He said that it was the Telewest guy (phones, cable, etc.) and he was coming here next to do "nextdoor." Obviously Amanda was concerned.

The police arrive, ask door to door questions about a person of Asian appearance hanging around over the last few days.

An hour or so later the rapist pulls into the car park in his new 5 series bimmer, police say "'ere, I want a word with you" and nick him.

Later we hear from Chris, that Wendy is a little shaken and it was the Sky TV man.

A week or so later we hear the rapist is out on bail while the police pursue investigations.

Now, as they came to me to ask questions, I know that they know he was knocking out smack, they used to come around the back door, almost up to 10 or so a day. But about a week or so before the attack he'd stopped.

We surmised that as it was known that he was getting his gear off the Pakis in Brum, he must have stopped because he didn't have any more.

Why didn't he have any more -- he was on to a good thing, good cover, no body was going to grass him, the community around here just isn't that way inclined.

This is what I think

I think, Chris got a phone call, "our money or your ~~life~~ wife. He did a runner, the Pakis from Brum sent their debt collector around -- something happened. He said he'd be back for the money in an hour. Chris comes back decides to pull the rape stunt -- whether it happened or she offered herself -- who's to know. Otherwise why would a Telewest man who'd just raped someone turn up at the scene of the crime, as if nothing had happened. And how come a Telewest guy drives a 5 series bimmer?

Now, obviously, if he hasn't been paying his bills, the Pakis in Brum are going to be really pissed off. Not only haven't they got their money, but they haven't got their debt collector nor their 5 series bimmer - which was impounded.

So, while we were away, they paid him a call.

Sounds plausible to me.

It would also fit that Chris was turning super grass, this is why the police were going along with his rapist story and why we heard several versions from him about the Telewest/Sky/BT man. And why she was moved to a safe house. It would also fit with the party house saying "it all came back on him."

I'll find out more tonight from another source
